Pete Seeger joins host LeVar Burton to read (and sing) the classic African folktale Abiyoyo on Reading Rainbow. In this complete Reading Rainbow segment from 1986, legendary American folk singer Pete Seeger sings and tells us the story of a fearsome giant named Abiyoyo. Foldit asks players to solve 3D puzzles that simulate how a chain of amino acids folds into a protein. Determining the most likely shape of a protein helps scientists develop drugs that can block it from doing harm. Corals are threatened by climate change and pollution. To preserve them, we need to know their location. In NASA’s NeMO-Net video game, players of all ages identify and categorize reefs from 3D ocean imagery and help train a supercomputer to create a global map. From edf.org.
Help protect the scientific record from assault by climate change deniers. Join citizen archivists who copy climate data from government websites and save it on independent servers. The effort to back up government data gained traction after Donald Trump’s election. Datasets preserved so far include studies by the Environmental Protection Agency, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and NASA, among others. Strawbery Banke Museum, in the heart of historic downtown Portsmouth, New Hampshire, is an authentic 10-acre outdoor history museum dedicated to bringing 300+ years of American history in the same waterfront neighborhood to life. The Museum is a place for children, adults, multigenerational families and groups to gather to explore eight heritage gardens, 32 historic buildings and traditional crafts, preservation programs, hands-on activities, the stories told by costumed role-players and the changing exhibits that offer hours of fun and discovery. The Museum's restored buildings and open space invite visitors to immerse themselves in the past, using objects from the museum's collection of 30,000 artifacts, and the histories of the families who lived and worked in the Puddle Dock neighborhood to engage, educate and entertain.
Free Admission for 2 adults and up to 4 children ages 17 and under. Free admission to signature events including: An American Celebration on July 4th, Christmas Candlelight Stroll and Fall Festival. In addition, a 10% discount at the gift shop.

The Currier Museum of Art is dedicated to connecting art with people in innovative ways. The museum is home to a significant collection of European, American, and contemporary art, including works by Picasso, Monet, O’Keeffe, LeWitt, and works by New Hampshire artists. This collection inspires exhibitions and programs of many types.
The Currier Museum opened to the public in 1929 and completed a new extension in 2008. It is New Hampshire’s very own museum of art. The museum is open every day except Tuesday.
The museum owns the Zimmerman House, a home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, complete with original furnishings and art. Guided visits can be booked online.
The Currier Art Center offers studio classes, art camps, master classes, and intensive workshops for all ages.
Half-price general admission for two adults (ages 18+) and all youth family members (ages 13-17).
